This week in school, we are celebrating Refugee Week. Mrs Holt led a whole school collective worship, introducing the week and reminding us that Mary, Joseph and Jesus were refugees when they fled Bethlehem to escape King Herod to go to live in safety in Egypt. During the week, the children will be reflecting on the experiences and feelings of people who are refugees and asylum seekers. We will read and discuss stories about refugees and reflect on the teachings of Jesus that talk about how his followers should help others. Finally, we will think about how we can follow Jesus' teachings and be a welcoming school to all.
