Year 3 have had such a fun today, We enjoyed some crafts this morning - we did some cave painting under the table and we made some clay pots. Then this afternoon we enjoyed watching some of Stig of the Dump and looking at some Stone Age artefacts that we lent from the Library! We’ve had a great…

We enjoyed an afternoon walk to Williamson park to visit the Raku sculpture. We took our art books with us to do some sketching and then we had a play on the park. We had lots of fun and managed to miss the rain!

 

Year 3 have been working so hard to create their sculptures made from wire inspired by the artist Giacometti. We didn’t find it easy but we didn’t give up! 
 

Year 3 have been learning all about Epiphany for the last two weeks in our RE lessons. We have been working in groups to find some of the Gospels in the Bible to do some further learning about the Magi and when the three kings visited the baby Jesus. 
 

Year 3 have been enjoying making 3D shapes out of the magnets! We looked at all the different 2D shapes we need to make them into 3D ones.

We had so much fun at our Christmas Party. We enjoyed playing musical statues, pass the parcel and corners. We certainly danced our socks off!
 

As we have been learning about light and shadows in our science, we had a go at retelling the nativity story using shadow puppets. We worked in groups to put together a performance and then we took it in turns to listen to each other. 
 

Year 3 blew our socks off on Friday last week with their resilience and determination. Every single one of them tried very hard and didn’t give up! Well done all of you! 

Yesterday, in our science lesson we had some fun in the dark using our torches to create shadows! We tired to make some different shadow animals and some of us even tried to tell stories. 

This morning, Year 3 had there first Kid safe lesson with Mrs Lowe. We played a game to get to know one another. We also spoke about the word trust and what it means. We had lots of fun learning with Mrs Lowe.

We love a Tuesday morning when we have PE with our specialist PE teacher Mr Lofthouse! We have been pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones by trying new things which scare us. We’ve been trying new jumps, rolls and even trying to climb over the climbing frame.

Year 3 enjoyed a maths carousel this week, we visited all the KS2 classrooms and had to work hard to solve some problems.
