In science we’ve been planting seeds to investigate what plants need to grow well. We’ve put our plants in different places around school to see what happens if we remove light, soil, water, or put the plant in a cold place.

Year 2 have been role playing the story of the Annunciation of John the Baptist. We also shared what we wondered about how Zechariah and Elizabeth felt when Zechariah left the temple unable to speak. 

Year 2 had wonderful day ending our topic of ‘Explorers’ with ‘Space Day’.

Year 2 love their reading for pleasure time! The children have been learning how to check their own books in and out of the library system independently and they have enjoyed reading together and sharing their love for books. 

In year 2 this week, our maths has focused on place value. We were using apparatus to exchange 10s and 1s. 
 

Year 2 have had a wonderful first week back after summer. 
We have been exploring what it means to be ourselves, talking about our marvellous brains and bodies, remembering how amazing we are at learning and realising the power of saying ‘I can’t do it YET!’.
