Year 1 have had a great trip to Williamson Park this morning and the sun came out for our walk home! When we arrived at the park, we used a leaf identification sheet to identify some of the trees, we then walked up to the play area to enjoy a run around and a snack. After that, we visited the sun dial and discussed what it was used for. We then marched around on the grass practicing following north, south, east and west instructions. Next, we walked to the Ashton Memorial to admire the view and spot man made and natural things. After walking down many steps (there wasn’t agreement on how many steps there were!) we went into the woodland to make Andy Goldsworthy inspired art. We enjoyed a picnic lunch in the classroom once we arrived back at school.
