Henry Moore

This half term, Year 1 are learning about the English sculpture Henry Moore. Today, we have looked at some examples of his work and discussed the term ‘abstract’. The children have spent time exploring what they can do with a small piece of playdough; pinch, roll, pull, push, twist.

Year 6 Press Play

Starting on the banks of the River Nile, Year 6 went on an exciting adventure through Ancient Egypt training to be a scribe. Whilst they were there, they were chosen to go on a very special mission through the Underworld but were met with a few obstacles along the way!

RE learning

Year 4 join the Salt Ayre Olympics!

The children in Year 4 enjoyed an Olympics Day at Salt Ayre today. In three teams, they took part in competitions for dodgeball, indoor cricket and tri-golf. It was a great opportunity to meet and play against children from many other local schools. Well done, Year 4!

First Aid in Year 4

The children in Year 4 engaged really well with their First Aid training session this week. Among other skills, they were shown how to make a sling for a broken arm, help someone who is choking and they practised giving CPR. Well done, Year 4!

Sharing our writing

This week, Year 1 have written information leaflets about snakes and newts. We have visited the Year 6 classroom to share our writing with the Year 6 children. We hope they learnt some new facts!
