Year 4 Castlerigg morning
Year 4 have woken up to a beautiful sunny morning and have enjoyed the grounds at Castlerigg Manor before breakfast. We’re looking forward to a walk to the lake later. One pupil said, “Castlerigg is fun and we love the games.”

Digital Artists
This half term, our Art unit is all about digital art. Today we explored photography. We took our iPads to the great outdoors to take some photos of things that interest us. Here are a selection of photos that we took in the afternoon sunshine!
Y5 love our ukuleles!
We had another great lesson with Beth our ukulele teacher today. There were lots of smiles and happy music making. Beth says we are doing really well!
Object vs. Material
In science this week, we’ve been looking at the difference between an object and the material it is made from. We investigated and compared the most common materials found inside and those found outside.
Year 4 Singing Lessons
Today, Year 4 began a series of singing lessons led by professional singer, Stuart Bell, in preparation for a concert in Lancaster Town Hall in June. It was wonderful to see and hear the children singing so joyfully and enthusiastically. We sang Lean on Me and Sky Full of Stars.
Year 6 Fun in the Sun!
Year 6 started back to school determined to enjoy their final term - first thing was to get out and enjoy a PE session in the wonderful sunshine! Let's hope it stays for Sports Day on Friday 22nd May!
Atlases and Maps
In Geography this week we have been practicing our atlas and map reading skills.
Bikeability in Year 4
The children in Year 4 had a wonderful time, learning to ride bikes, today. It was fantastic to see their resilience and positive attitude to having a go, particularly those children who have not tried to ride a bike before! Well done, Year 4!
Easter Cards and Sewing Book Sleeves
Year 6 have been hard at work this final week - making their wonderful Easter cards and hand sewing their design for a fabric book sleeve from their DT plans.
They are both brilliant! Well done everyone!
Riddles in Year 2
Year 2 have been working on riddle reading and riddle writing. It has been fabulous. The children worked with partners to write riddles for the rest of the class to read and guess the answer. Lots of laughter and joy has filled the classroom during our English lessons this week. Next step is to…
